AGS Diamond Certification

The American Gem Society (AGS) was established in 1934. This organization was formed to protect and educate jewelry professionals as well as consumers. This non-profit organization upholds high ethical standards in the jewelry industry and it also offers courses regarding different segments of the diamond industry. In 1996, AGS established a lab to provide diamond grading services.

IGI Diamond Certification

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) was founded in 1975. It is the largest independent gemological laboratory in the whole world. It has labs in all major diamond centers. Several gemologists will examine a diamond at an IGI lab before issuing the certificate. HRD Diamond Certification

Hoge Raad voor Diamant (HRD), which means “Diamond High Council”, was established in 1973. It was founded as a European counterpart to the GIA. HRD is responsible for monitoring and reporting over half of the trade of the world’s loose diamonds. It follows internationally accepted standards for diamond certification and highly is regarded worldwide.
